The self-test indicates a possible infection in the urine by checking leukocytes, blood, nitrite or protein in the urine. Symptoms can be varied, such as burning, a constant urge to urinate, and in more serious cases pain in the lower back, fever and flu. It is recommended to use the first urine of the morning (midstream).
Generally, the infection originates in the urethra and then reaches the upper urinary tract before entering the kidneys. It is mainly women who get urinary tract infections due to short urethras. Men mainly get infections in later years due to enlargement of the prostate, which can prevent urination. Perform the test if one or more of the following symptoms occur: frequent urination, burning during urination, cloudy and/or foul-smelling urine.

Use with the first urine of the morning. Take the test strip from the foil pouch. Dip the strip into the urine sample for 1–2 seconds. Wait 2 minutes for the result.
